Trauma Counseling
Los Angeles
Cindy Wang, LMFT
I help individuals heal from trauma and become their authentic selves.
You may have experienced trauma if you:
‣ Often feel guilty, ashamed, or disconnected from others
‣ Avoid thinking about or talking about what happened
‣ Have strong emotions that are difficult to control, or feel emotionally numb
Trauma has a significant impact on your mental health
You may feel sad, anxious, or irritable without understanding why, or you may be unable to feel your emotions fully.
You may have a hard time sleeping or enjoying activities that you used to like. Flashbacks and nightmares may also be affecting how you feel during the day and night. You may start seeing yourself or others in a negative light, or doubt your ability to have a normal life.
Intergenerational trauma, or trauma that is passed down from one generation to another, can also impact an individual’s mental health and way of being in the world.
It’s okay to ask for help
It takes courage to talk about your past experiences and start the journey towards healing. If you want to start feeling more satisfied and excited about your relationships, career, and future, reaching out to a mental health professional is the first step towards change.
Together, we will work together as a team to help you understand and process what happened and find different coping strategies that work for you. I will walk alongside with you on this journey of healing and self-discovery.
Nervous about starting therapy?
It is normal to feel nervous about sharing about your personal experiences with a therapist, especially if you haven’t been in therapy before.
I will take the time to get to know you and create a safe therapeutic space for you before diving into the work. You will guide the pace and what we work on in therapy.
You will find that it helps to have a supportive, neutral third party to help you sort through thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
I am here to help!
I have a strengths-based, collaborative, and non-judgmental approach. I will help you to identify and process your emotions, find healing, and get unstuck from old patterns. I will support you in creating a kinder, more positive sense of yourself. I will help you to learn coping strategies that you can use in your daily life, and practice ways to communicate and set healthy boundaries with others. I will support and empower you to make changes in your relationships and life!
Everyone’s needs are different, and I will tailor the therapy experience to what works best for you.
